1 Day PIANO CAMP for KIDS! (age 7+)
Come and spend a whole day totally immersed in music!
Each Camp will feature a wide range of brilliant activities, fully differentiated and designed to support you as you work towards becoming a well-rounded musician.
Here are some of the fantastic sessions we’ll be covering:
- Improvising in different styles e.g. Blues / Jazz / Pop
- Sightreading: Games & technology to ensure fun AND skills-building
- Performance masterclass/peer feedback sessions – reflective learning / assessment for learning
- Understanding healthy & tension-free piano technique, posture, and alignment
- Composing: Understanding what makes an effective composition, and using different stimuli to inspire & create your own music
- Music theory activities: broadening our musical literacy / helping us understand what’s on the page to improve fluency in our practical work
- Confidence building/positive mental mindset exercises to develop our musical self-esteem & resilience when learning / performing
- Aural skills: identifying pulse, metre, changes in tempo / dynamics – using Italian terms
- Piano Band – working with others as part of an ensemble; understanding different roles as a musician
- Listening & appraising: analysing the music we hear using subject-specific vocabulary / links to National Curriculum Music lessons
- Music & Art activities: Linking character/mood/imagery to the technical & expressive features within the music we hear
Each Camp will conclude with a showcase to parents at the end!
A musical goody bag with sheet music, theory activities, and light refreshments are provided. Please bring your own packed lunch for each day, along with headphones, to plug into the studio pianos.

Useful Info
- The minimum age for workshops is 7 years.
- A minimum of three participants for each workshop to be viable.
- There is a maximum capacity of ten participants per workshop.
- All sessions are to be paid for in advance via The Bee’s Keys online shop.
- Refund policy: Refunds are permitted up to 7 days before the session booked.
- Venue for workshops: The Bee’s Keys Piano Studio, Gipsy Lane, Swindon, SN2 8YY.
- Plenty of free parking / loos are available.
