🎧 NEW FOR 2025: Aural Skills Workshop - Grades 1-3 (Kids)
 
“Aural Skills” means “listening skills”! Come and develop these important muscianship skills, which will really benefit your playing, as well as overall musicianship. In addition, these workshops will be very useful for anyone working towards ABRSM practical exams, and/or GCSE/A-Level Music.
 
In the Grades 1-3 workshop, we’ll learn how to recognise changes in pitch and rhythm, how to identify pulse and metre, and how to analyse the musical features within a piece of music that contribute to character and mood (dynamics, tempo, tonality, and articulation).
 
For the more advanced (Grades 4-5) workshop, we’ll build on the skills covered at Grades 1-3, but we’ll also cover topics such as melodic repetition, sight-singing, and compositional devices (such as texture), along with the four main musical genres in music history.
